How were children raised?
In the the book Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe each household is enclosed in a designated area with one wife. Each wife lives in a hut with her children, and the husband visits each wife in turn. Children are often cared for in groups rather than individually. What do you think the advantages and disadvantages of this form of social structure are? Advantages to raising kids in a society like that would be being able to many kids. Disadvantages to raising kids in a society like that would be that the kids would grow up to hate their dad. Like in the story Okonkwo grew up to hate his father.

You begin to provide your answer to the question with "Advantages to raising..." This is the first sentence of a paragraph, BUT if you proofread, you don't really state your actual idea.
ReplyDeleteYour next paragraph would begin with "Disadvantages..." but again this is just the first sentence. You start to provide an example with Okonkwo and his father, but this is not a complete sentence, and needs to be integrated into the paragraph where the example belongs.
